Embsay reservoir is one of our favourite walks!
Park in the reservoir car park or walk up from Embsay Village then head right along the walled path. There’s a one way system in place at the moment, and it’s the way with the best views!
Embsay Reservoir is family friendly, ideal for toddlers and upwards as it is a fairly short walk with clear paths. There’s lots to see and do including watching the different birds on the water, try to identify the plants and flowers you see, listen to the sounds of the water coming from the hills and entering the reservoir.
The reservoir path is dog friendly with poo-bins dotted around the route and plenty of paddling opportunitites (for the dogs, not people!) we always meet a four-legged friend or two!
If you walk around Embsay Reservoir this week make sure you tag Skipton Wellness Week and use the hashtag #SkiptonWellnessWeek #LittleMissYorkshire
Meet Little Miss Yorkshire. Gemma is a local girl who works in a wellness role for a large national construction form. She now writes a family blog called Little Miss Yorkshire where she showcases the best of the region’s walks, including many family friendly walks.
This week Little Miss Yorkshire is sharing one of her favourite walks each day…with a big finale on Saturday with “Little Miss Yorkshire’s Wellness Hunt” – a scavenger hunt for you and your little ones to get outside, connect with nature, stop and breathe!
